यच्च ते मत्परिज्ञाने कौतूहलमरिंदम । अनर्थकेषु को भाव: पुरुषस्य विजानतः,शत्रुदमन! तुम्हें मेरे पुरातन स्वरूपको देखने या जाननेके लिये जो कौतूहल हुआ है, वह ठीक नहीं है। किसी भी समझदार मनुष्यका निरर्थक विषयोंके लिये आग्रह क्यों होना चाहिये?
yac ca te mat-parijñāne kautūhalam ariṃdama | anarthakeṣu ko bhāvaḥ puruṣasya vijānataḥ ||
Wahai penakluk musuh! Rasa ingin tahumu untuk mengenali wujudku yang dahulu, yang purba itu, tidaklah patut. Bagi seorang yang arif dan memahami apa yang sungguh bernilai, mengapa harus ada keterikatan pada hal-hal yang pada akhirnya sia-sia?
