Bhīma–Hanūmān Dialogue on Yugas (युगवर्णनम्)
The verse underscores the ethical gravity of fraternal betrayal: when power is used to wrong one’s own kin on a mere pretext, it violates dharma and forces the innocent into exile; yet endurance and right companionship can preserve one through adversity.
Sugrīva is said to have been wronged and expelled by his brother Vāli for some alleged reason; afterward, Sugrīva resides for a long time with the narrator (here, Vaiśampāyana’s reported voice) on Mount Ṛṣyamūka.
