भरद्वाजपुत्रवधः

The Slaying of Bharadvāja’s Son and the Sage’s Lament

शूद्र बवाच रैभ्यं यातो नूनमयं पुत्रस्ते मन्दचेतन: । तथा हि निहत: शेते राक्षसेन बलीयसा,शूद्र बोला--भगवन्‌! अवश्य ही आपका यह मन्दमति पुत्र रैभ्यके यहाँ गया था। उसीका यह फल है कि एक महाबली राक्षसके द्वारा मारा जाकर पृथ्वीपर पड़ा है

Śūdra uvāca—Raibhyaṁ yāto nūnam ayaṁ putras te mandacetanaḥ | tathā hi nihataḥ śete rākṣasena balīyasā ||

Śūdra itu berkata: “Wahai Bhagavan, sungguh putramu yang tumpul budi itu telah pergi kepada Raibhya. Inilah akibatnya: ia tergeletak di sini, terbunuh oleh rākṣasa yang lebih perkasa.”
