Pilgrimage to Sea Tīrthas, Śūrpāraka, and Prabhāsa

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharmic reciprocity and proper conduct: honoring guests and being honored in return, and recognizing righteous leadership by gathering around the king as a sign of ethical order and communal respect.

After mutual courtesies, the group takes their seats by surrounding Yudhiṣṭhira, likened to the gods encircling Indra—portraying Yudhiṣṭhira’s central role and the assembly’s reverence toward him.
