आपद्धर्मे कोशबलन्यायः | Treasury, Force, and Crisis-Ethics for the King
निवेद्य नामगोत्रे च पितरं च नरर्षभ । प्रदिष्टे चासने तेन शनैरहमुपाविशम्,नरश्रेष्ठ) उनके सामने नाम, गोत्र और पिताका परिचय देकर उन्हींके दिये हुए आसन पर धीरेसे बैठ गया
nivedya nāmagotre ca pitaraṁ ca nararṣabha | pradiṣṭe cāsane tena śanair aham upāviśam ||
Wahai yang terbaik di antara manusia, setelah dengan hormat menyampaikan namaku, garis keturunanku, serta menyebutkan ayahku, aku perlahan duduk di tempat duduk yang telah ia tunjukkan.
भीष्म उवाच
Proper conduct (ācāra) sustains dharma: one should approach others with humility, clearly state one’s identity and lineage when appropriate, and accept a host’s guidance respectfully—symbolized by sitting only when offered a seat.
Bhīṣma narrates a courteous encounter: he introduces himself by name, gotra, and father, and then, after the other person indicates a seat, he sits down slowly and respectfully.
