Adhyāya 35 — Bhīmasena’s Counter-Encirclement and the Karṇa Engagement Escalation
तत् कर्म कुरु राधेय वज़्रपाणिरिवापर: । “वीर राधापुत्र! वे दोनों जिसे न कर सके, वही वीरोचित कर्म आज महासमरमें दूसरे वज्रधारी इन्द्रके समान तुम निश्चय ही पूर्ण करो
tat karma kuru rādhēya vajrapāṇir ivāparaḥ |
Lakukanlah perbuatan itu, wahai Radheya—bagaikan Indra lain yang menggenggam wajra. Tuntaskan hari ini, di samudra perang yang agung ini, tugas kesatria yang tak mampu diselesaikan oleh mereka berdua.
संजय उवाच
The verse urges decisive action aligned with a warrior’s role: one should undertake the necessary deed with unwavering resolve and heroic energy, not shrinking back because others failed.
Sañjaya, narrating the battlefield events, addresses Karṇa (Rādhēya) with a rousing exhortation, comparing him to Indra the thunderbolt-bearer and pressing him to accomplish in the great combat what two others were unable to achieve.
