मित्रब्रह्मगुरुद्रोही जाल्मक: सुविगर्लित: । पाञज्चालापसदश्चाद्य न मे जीवन् विमोक्ष्यते,“मित्र, ब्राह्मण तथा गुरुसे द्रोह करनेवाला अत्यन्त निन्दित वह पांचालकुलकलंक पामर धृष्टद्युम्न भी आज मेरे हाथसे जीवित नहीं छूट सकेगा”

mitra-brahma-guru-drohī jālmakaḥ suvigarlitaḥ |
pāñcālāpasadaś cādya na me jīvan vimokṣyate ||
Sañjaya berkata: “Dhṛṣṭadyumna yang hina dan sangat tercela itu—pengkhianat terhadap sahabat, brāhmaṇa, dan guru, noda bagi kaum Pāñcāla—hari ini takkan lolos dari tanganku dalam keadaan hidup.”
संजय उवाच
The verse frames the killing of Dhṛṣṭadyumna as morally charged: betrayal of friend, brāhmaṇa, and especially one’s guru is presented as a grave ethical transgression (droha), used here to justify uncompromising retribution in war.
In the Drona Parva battle context, Sañjaya reports a warrior’s fierce resolve: Dhṛṣṭadyumna—seen as the slayer/enemy of Droṇa and condemned as a betrayer—will not be allowed to escape alive that day.
