Mataṅga–Śakra Dialogue on Tapas, Status, and Moral Qualities
Reverent association with the sacred—here expressed as dwelling near, seeing, and touching the Gaṅgā—purifies a person and draws divine support, culminating in a desired auspicious destiny. The verse links external sacred contact to inner transformation (bhāva) and ethical uplift.
A Siddha is describing the fruit (phala) of Gaṅgā-related pilgrimage and devotion: humans who reside by or behold the river receive happiness from the gods, and those purified by her touch and sight are guided by the gods toward their wished-for spiritual end.
