आवर्तनो निवृत्तात्मा संवृत: सम्प्रमर्दन: । अहःसंवर्तको वल्लिरनिलो धरणीधर:

Transliteration

āvartano nivṛttātmā saṁvṛtaḥ sampramardanaḥ | ahaḥsaṁvartako vahnir anilo dharaṇīdharaḥ ||

Translation

Bhishma berkata: Ia adalah Āvartana, yang memutar roda keberadaan dunia; namun juga Nivṛttātmā, yang Diri-Nya senantiasa lepas dari belenggu. Terselubung oleh yoga-māyā-Nya sendiri, Ia tetap menjadi daya yang menundukkan segalanya melalui wujud-wujud-Nya yang dahsyat. Sebagai Matahari Ia menegakkan siang; sebagai Api Ia mengusung persembahan; sebagai Angin Ia bergerak sebagai napas kehidupan; dan sebagai Penopang Bumi—bagai Varāha dan Śeṣa—Ia menyangga dunia.
