आधारनिलयोअ<थधाता पुष्पहास: प्रजागर: । ऊर्ध्वग: सत्पथाचार: प्राणद: प्रणव: पण:
bhīṣma uvāca | ādhāra-nilayo 'dhātā puṣpa-hāsaḥ prajāgaraḥ | ūrdhva-gaḥ satpathācāraḥ prāṇa-daḥ praṇavaḥ paṇaḥ ||
Bhīṣma berkata: Ia adalah landasan dan tempat bernaung semua makhluk; ada dengan sendirinya, tanpa pencipta di atas-Nya. Senyumnya lembut, mekar laksana bunga; Ia senantiasa terjaga dan sepenuhnya waspada. Bersemayam di atas segalanya, Ia menegakkan laku jalan benar. Ia penganugeraha hidup—bahkan menghidupkan kembali yang jatuh—dan Ia adalah Pranava, suku kata suci ‘Om’ itu sendiri; Ia pula yang bertindak tepat dan adil kepada setiap makhluk.
