Adhyāya 152 — Bhīṣma’s Authorization for Yudhiṣṭhira’s Return to the Capital (नगरप्रवेशानुज्ञा)

अन्यथा बहुबुद्धयाढ्यो वाक्‍्यं वदति संसदि । अन्यथैव हाहंवादी दुर्बलं वदते वच:

anyathā bahubuddhyāḍhyo vākyaṃ vadati saṃsadi | anyathaiva hāhaṃvādī durbalaṃ vadate vacaḥ ||

Maheshvara bersabda: “Orang yang kaya pemahaman berbicara di balairung dengan satu cara—terukur, penuh pertimbangan, dan sesuai keadaan. Tetapi si pembual yang mengagungkan diri berbicara lain, melontarkan kata-kata yang lemah dan tak dapat diandalkan. Ia yang berbekal pengetahuan dan kebijaksanaan praktis, mahir menimbang berbagai kemungkinan, serta menanyakan keraguannya kepada beragam pembicara yang cakap, tidak akan jatuh ke dalam kesusahan.”
