वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse foregrounds the dharmic priority of sustaining lineage through rightful progeny and frames conjugal union as a duty tied to social order; it also stresses companionship—heaven itself is desired only together with the spouse.
A woman addresses a Kuru prince with two linked requests: that she will accompany him to heaven, and that he should unite with her so that a child may be born—placing the continuation of the family line at the center of the moment.
