Genealogies from Yayāti’s Sons to the Yadu Dynasty; Romapāda–Ṛṣyaśṛṅga; Kārtavīryārjuna; and the Rise of Yādava Branches
वृषसेन: सुतस्तस्य कर्णस्य जगतीपते । द्रुह्योश्च तनयो बभ्रु: सेतुस्तस्यात्मजस्तत: ॥ १४ ॥
vṛṣasenaḥ sutas tasya karṇasya jagatīpate druhyoś ca tanayo babhruḥ setus tasyātmajas tataḥ
Wahai Raja, putra Karṇa adalah Vṛṣasena. Druhyu, putra ketiga Yayāti, mempunyai putra bernama Babhru, dan putra Babhru dikenal sebagai Setu.
This verse states that Vṛṣasena was the son of Karṇa, mentioned while Śukadeva Gosvāmī narrates royal genealogies to King Parīkṣit.
In Canto 9, Śukadeva outlines dynastic lines to connect major historical figures and show how dharma and divine arrangement unfold through generations.
They remind a reader that identity and prestige are temporary, while one should focus on lasting spiritual progress—bhakti and dharma—beyond family lineage.
