FAQs

Ayurvedic garbha-vidyā: it states that by the seventh month the fetus is sustained by the mother’s intake of food and drink, and that the fetus shows marked agitation in the eighth and ninth months—observations relevant to prenatal care.

It demonstrates the Purana’s medical-technical scope by preserving month-wise fetal development concepts (garbha-vṛddhi) alongside its ritual, dharma, and other śāstric materials—typical of the Agni Purana’s encyclopedic compilation.

By highlighting the fetus’s dependence on the mother’s intake and late-term sensitivity, it implicitly supports ethical self-restraint and mindful conduct during pregnancy, aligning bodily care with dhārmic responsibility toward new life.
