The Glory of Rudra: The Origin of the Kapālamocana Pilgrimage Site and Rudra’s Expiatory Vow
devair jayetī saṃtuṣṭaḥ kailāsanilayaṃ yayau || brahmā cāpi suraiḥ sārddhaṃ gataḥ svarlokam uttamam
Varāha (default dialogue framework; narrative voice)
It reflects pan-Indic sacred geography (Kailāsa) and cosmological layering (Svarga), both central to how Purāṇas encode cultural memory of places and realms.
Kailāsa—classically identified with the Mount Kailash region in the trans-Himalaya, a major locus in South Asian sacred geography.
Implicitly, it models social recognition and closure: communal acclamation and orderly return after a completed rite or discourse.
