The Hierarchy of the Trimūrti and the Manifestation of the Goddess Trikalā
brahmovāca | asty andhako mahādaityas tena sarve divaukasaḥ | arditā matsamīpaṁ tu buddhvā māṁ śaraṇaiṣiṇaḥ ||
Brahmā
It reflects a widespread Purāṇic pattern: devas experiencing defeat or distress and approaching a higher authority for protection, enabling comparison across Andhaka-related myth cycles.
The term divaukasaḥ indicates “dwellers in heaven” (a cosmological realm), not a terrestrial geographic site.
The verse foregrounds the social logic of seeking protection and counsel when overwhelmed—śaraṇa as a pragmatic recourse in crisis.
