Reconciliation of Action and Knowledge: Offering All Acts to Nārāyaṇa and the Hymn to the Yajña-Puruṣa
itīritas tasya hutāśanārciḥ prakhyaṃ tu tejaḥ purato babhūva | tasmin sa rājā praviveśa buddhiṃ kṛtvā layaṃ prāptavān yajñamūrtau || 5.55 ||
Varāha (default dialogue framework; explicit speaker not stated in the fragment)
It reflects a common Purāṇic narrative pattern in which royal authority is linked to ritual power (yajña) and culminates in a soteriological motif—absorption (laya) into a sacral principle—illustrating how ritual ideology is used to frame idealized kingship and liberation themes.
No geographic location is named in this verse; the content centers on a visionary radiance and the king’s absorption into the yajña-form.
The verse emphasizes disciplined mental orientation (buddhiṃ kṛtvā) and the ideal of self-transcendence—portraying focused intention and relinquishment of egoic identity as a philosophical instruction within the narrative frame.
