FAQs

It reflects a common Purāṇic phalaśruti pattern where disciplined observance (vrata/fasting) is presented as a culturally authoritative means to restore social standing and political legitimacy, illustrating how ritual ethics and kingship ideology intersect in medieval Sanskrit textual traditions.

No specific geographic site is named in this verse; it is framed as a general statement about outcomes 'in this world' (iha loke).

The verse foregrounds procedural discipline—observing an austerity/fast 'according to rule' (vidhānena)—as the key principle, emphasizing regulated practice and self-restraint as instruments of personal and social transformation.
