The Birth of Ahaṅkāra as Guha/Skanda and His Appointment as Divine Commander
mahātapā uvāca | sarveṣām eva tattvānāṃ yaḥ paraḥ puruṣaḥ smṛtaḥ | tasmād avyaktam utpannaṃ tattvādi trividhaṃ tu tat || 25.2 ||
Mahātapā
It reflects the integration of Sāṅkhya-like metaphysical vocabulary (puruṣa, avyakta, tattva) into Purāṇic narration, illustrating how philosophical schemata were transmitted through widely circulated Sanskrit compendia.
No geographic location is named in this verse; it is primarily a metaphysical statement about the origin of categories (tattvas).
The verse does not give a direct moral injunction; its philosophical instruction is classificatory—asserting a transcendent principle (puruṣa) and describing the emergence of the unmanifest (avyakta) and a threefold categorization of fundamental principles.
