Eulogy of the Merits (Phalaśruti) of the Dharāṇī-Varāha Dialogue
atha dharaṇīvarāha-saṁvāda-phalaśruti-varṇanam || sanatkumāra uvāca || uktaṁ bhagavatā sarvaṁ yathāvat parameṣṭhinā || pṛṣṭena saṁśayaṁ samyak paraṁ kṛtvārthaniścayam ||
Sanatkumāra
It introduces a phalaśruti section, a widespread Purāṇic device that legitimizes transmission and highlights the pedagogical aim of resolving doubts through authoritative discourse.
No specific location is named; the verse is a literary frame for the dialogue’s benefits rather than a topographic reference.
The emphasis is on inquiry and clarification: doubts should be raised and resolved through careful explanation leading to artha-niścaya (settled understanding).
