Description of the Māhātmya of Gokarṇeśvara and Jaleśvara (Śaileśvara) in the Śleṣmātaka Forest
dadhnā kṣīreṇa madhunā sarpiṣā salilena vā || snāpanaṃ ye prayacchanti te taranti jarāntakau ||
Varāha
It reflects Purāṇic ritual culture where donations enabling worship (here, ablutions) are framed as meritorious acts, illustrating how sacred-site economies and devotional practice were textualized.
The verse operates within the Śaileśvara-kṣetra context (named in nearby verses), a sacred geography marker; the fragment itself does not specify a modern identification.
Support of communal worship through offerings—especially simple, accessible substances like water—is presented as an ethically valued act with transformative consequences.
