The Glory of Gokarṇa: Description of Nandikeśvara’s Boon and the Assembly of Deities on Mount Muñjavat
sthāṇum ugraṃ śivaṃ devaṃ śarvam eva svayaṃ mune || yadi jānāsi bhagavān īśvaro yatra tiṣṭhati ||
Śakra (Indra)
The stacking of epithets documents a shared lexical repertoire for Śiva across Purāṇic and epic Sanskrit, useful for comparative philology and theology-of-names studies.
The verse asks for a location but does not name it; the answer appears later (Mauñjavata mountain).
It encourages careful identification and accurate knowledge (jñāna) before action—seeking verified information about the sought figure.
