Varāha
Śauca and sādhusaṅga sanctify space; holiness is transmitted through character and conduct.
Seek the company of the pure; maintain śauca so one’s home and community become spiritually elevating.
A śuci (pure, disciplined) person becomes kṛtārtha; wherever such a person resides, that place is deemed medhya and pavitra.
Honoring and dwelling with the śuci yields puṇya and social-spiritual uplift; neglecting purity and saintly company leads to loss of merit and ritual ineligibility.
Varāha Purāṇa: recurring praise of śauca, sat-saṅga, and tīrtha-like power of the righteous (general motif)
It documents a classical Indic linkage between personal virtue and the perceived purity of space, relevant to Dharma discourse and the cultural history of ritual categories.
No named location appears; the verse generalizes the idea that a virtuous person’s presence sanctifies a place.
Personal purity and ethical accomplishment are presented as socially and ritually transformative, conferring auspiciousness on one’s surroundings.
