Description of Sinners Abiding in Yama’s Realm
Catalog of Transgressions and the Logic of Retribution
striyo narāś ca gacchanti yatra tac chṛṇutāmalāḥ || kurvantīha yathā sarve tatra gatvā yamālaye
Varāha (default, not explicit in fragment)
It articulates a broadly pan-Indic karmic principle found across Purāṇic and Dharmaśāstra traditions: actions in life correspond to experiences after death.
The verse names Yamālaya (Yama’s abode), a cosmological rather than terrestrial location.
One should be mindful that actions have consequences; moral causality is presented as continuous across life and afterlife.
