Description of the Universal Peace-Recitation and the Madhuparka Rite
etatte kathitaṃ bhūme mahāśāntiṃ sukhāvahām || sarvasaṃsāramokṣārthaṃ rahasyaṃ paramaṃ mahat
Varāha (default dialogue framework; addressee explicitly: Pṛthivī/Bhūmi)
By addressing Bhūmi directly, the verse reinforces the Varāha Purāṇa’s characteristic Earth-centered dialogue frame, while also illustrating how ritual discourse is presented as an esoteric path toward mokṣa.
The verse identifies Bhūmi (Earth) as the interlocutor, not a specific terrestrial location.
It foregrounds well-being (sukha) and liberation (mokṣa) as guiding aims, situating ritual knowledge within a disciplined and purposeful framework.
