Varāha
Curious (implied listener within the default Varāha–Bhū dialogue frame)
What kind of dāna-vidhi and conduct lead to the Lord’s divine destination, and who becomes dear to him?
Devotion is authenticated by disciplined giving and proper conduct; divine attainment is linked to ethical-ritual correctness.
Practice dāna with correct method and cultivate consistent proper behavior and respectful service in worship and social-religious duties.
One who follows the proper procedure of giving (dāna-vidhi) and maintains right conduct and fitting service-attentions becomes dear to the Lord and attains his divine goal.
Proper dāna and sadācāra lead to divine gati (the Lord’s destination); neglect of proper conduct implies loss of that fruit and distance from divine favor.
Varāha Purāṇa 191.18–22 (madhuparka and upacāra procedure as an instance of dāna/atithi-satkāra)
It preserves a Purāṇic synthesis of ritual merit (dāna-vidhi) with social ethics (vṛtta) and hospitality norms (upacāra).
No geographic location is specified; the verse emphasizes a transcendent 'divyā gati' rather than a pilgrimage site.
To align giving with disciplined conduct and respectful service, presented as markers of ideal behavior.
