The Curse of Sāmba and the Prescribed Observance of Sun-Worship
kṛṣṇagaṅgodbhave snātvā sūryam ārādhya yatnataḥ || sarvapāpavinirmuktaḥ kuṣṭhādibhyo vimucyate
Nārada (contextual continuation)
It exemplifies a Purāṇic template combining sacred hydrology (bathing at a named water source) with devotional practice, reflecting how landscapes and health/purity narratives are interwoven in cultural memory.
‘Kṛṣṇagaṅgā-udbhava’ is identified as a sacred water origin/emanation; the fragment does not provide enough detail for a secure modern identification without additional textual or regional corroboration.
Persistent, effortful practice (yatna) oriented toward purification and restoration—linking personal discipline with engagement in culturally significant landscapes.
