The Curse of Sāmba and the Prescribed Observance of Sun-Worship

Unspecified (narrative voice within Varāha’s discourse)
It documents idealized norms of guest-reception (atithi-satkāra) and gift-giving, offering evidence for how Purāṇic texts encode social ethics and courtly ritual vocabulary.
The setting is Dvārakā (named earlier in the chapter), functioning as the narrative locus for Kṛṣṇa’s household and court.
Proper hospitality—offering pādya, arghya, āsana, madhuparka, and appropriate gifts—is presented as normative conduct toward revered guests.
