The Māhātmya of Kṛṣṇagaṅgodbhava, Kāliñjara, and the Five Sacred Baths: The Tale of Pāñcāla and Tilottamā
kṛṣṇagaṅgā daśaguṇaṃ labhate ca dinedine || jñāto'jñāto vā api yatpāpaṃ samupārjitam
Varāha (default dialogue framework)
It illustrates a common Purāṇic valuation system for tīrthas (multiplication of merit), and distinguishes intentional from unintentional moral fault.
Kṛṣṇagaṅgā is named; in later regional traditions it is associated with the Mathurā–Vraja sacred landscape.
It frames ethical remediation as available even for inadvertent wrongdoing, emphasizing accountability while allowing for restoration.
