devasyāgre tu vasudhe kūpaṃ tu vimalodakam | pitaraś cābhinandanti pānīyaṃ piṇḍam eva ca ||
वसुधे, भगवान के सामने एक कुआँ है। उसमें साफ पानी है। पितरी लोग पानी से और पिंड से खुश होते हैं।
Varāha (addressing Pṛthivī/Vasudhā)
It links sacred-site practice with water infrastructure (a well) and ancestral rites, offering evidence for how Purāṇic texts integrate ritual life with managed water resources.
The verse is situated within the Mathurā sacred landscape; the well is described as being ‘in front of the deity,’ implying a specific shrine-adjacent water point.
It implicitly promotes the maintenance and use of clean water sources in sacred precincts, framing water as both a practical and culturally meaningful resource.
