gopyo rūpāṇi cakre ca tatra krīḍanake hariḥ || yadā bālena kṛṣṇena bhagnārjuna-yugaṃ tathā |
Varāha
It demonstrates how Purāṇic compilers embed popular Kṛṣṇa-līlā motifs into place-description, strengthening mnemonic and pilgrimage associations.
The location is implicit (‘there’), tied to the chapter’s described kṣetra; identification relies on the surrounding toponyms (e.g., Gopīśvara) and local traditions.
The verse primarily functions as cultural memory (līlā narration) rather than direct moral injunction, supporting preservation of narrative heritage linked to place.
