Praise of the Sacred Geography of Mathurā
yatrāhaṃ pātayiṣyāmi dvātriṃśattu vasundhare || daityān ghorān mahābhāge kaṃsādīn dharmadūṣakān
Varāha
It preserves a narrative template where social-moral order (dharma) is framed as threatened by disruptive forces, a common Purāṇic mode for articulating ethical memory.
The location is implied by “yatra” (where) and clarified by nearby verses naming Mathurā and the Yamunā region.
The verse contrasts dharma with dharma-dūṣaṇa (corruption of order), presenting protection of communal order as a central value.
