The Sacred Geography and Merit of Dvārakā
atha dvārakāmāhātmyam || sūta uvāca || śrīstutasvāmimāhātmyaṃ śrutvā dharmaparāyaṇā || parituṣṭamanā devī vākyam etad uvāca ha ||
Sūta
It marks a new māhātmya section and demonstrates Purāṇic compilation style through Sūta’s framing narration and topic transitions.
Dvārakā is explicitly identified as the focus of the forthcoming section; it is widely associated with the western Indian coastal region in later tradition and scholarship.
The verse foregrounds dharma-oriented listening and reflective satisfaction as virtues in receiving cultural-heritage narratives.
