A Sūtra-like Manual of Expiations for Ritual Transgressions
mama doṣāparādhasya śṛṇu tattvena yatphalam || jambuko jāyate bhūmau varṣāṇāṃ nava pañca ca ||
Unspecified (dialogue frame suggests Varāha addressing Pṛthivī, but not explicit in this verse)
It reflects a common Purāṇic didactic mode in which ethical transgression is explained through karmic consequence and rebirth imagery, used to communicate moral causality in narrative form.
No specific toponym is named in this verse; it only states 'on the earth' (bhūmau).
Actions described as fault/offense (doṣa–aparādha) are presented as producing concrete consequences, underscoring moral accountability.
