Parents are ‘mānārha’ because they are instrumental causes of embodiment; gratitude is expressed as service and honor.
Before major decisions (marriage, travel, vows), seek elders’ blessings; practice daily respect and care for parents/guardians.
Honor and seek the favor of one’s mother and father (and by extension elders); treat them as foremost recipients of respect before pursuing one’s aims.
Observance brings familial harmony, social legitimacy, and dharmic merit; neglect incurs blame, loss of auspiciousness, and relational rupture.
Varaha Purana 122.52 (obedience to their command as prerequisite to next action)
It reflects normative social ethics prominent in Dharma-oriented literature: honoring parents and acknowledging the debt of birth and care.
No geographic location is explicitly identified in this verse.
Respect and reconciliation toward elders/parents are presented as foundational ethical duties.
