sa ṛṣiḥ prāñjalir bhūtvā uvāca puruṣottamam | jahīmaṃ durjjayaṃ pāpaṃ sasainyaṃ parivāriṇam || 11.105 ||
Ṛṣi (unnamed in excerpt; addressing Varāha/Puruṣottama)
It reflects a common Purāṇic narrative motif: a sage formally petitions a supreme figure for protection and restoration of order, illustrating how authority and ethical legitimacy are articulated through respectful speech and ritual gesture (prāñjali).
No geographic location is named in this verse fragment; it focuses on a direct appeal to Puruṣottama regarding the removal of a hostile force.
The verse frames the removal of a “sinful” aggressor and his armed support as a protective act aligned with restoring moral order, communicated through disciplined, respectful petition rather than personal vengeance.
