अथाधिप्रजम् । माता पूर्वरूपम् । पितोत्तररूपम् । प्रजा सन्धिः । प्रजननं सन्धानम् । इत्यधिप्रजम् ॥५॥

athādhiprajam | mātā pūrvarūpam | pitottararūpam | prajā sandhiḥ | prajananam sandhānam | ity adhiprajam ||5||

Translation

अब बच्चे के बारे में सोचो। माँ पहले आती है, बाप बाद में आता है। बच्चा इन दोनों को जोड़ता है। बच्चा पैदा करना ही जोड़ने का काम है। यह बच्चे का पूरा चक्र है।

Academic Translation

Now, with regard to progeny: the mother is the prior form; the father is the later form; the offspring is the junction; procreation is the act of joining. Thus (is the contemplation) with regard to progeny.
