In the midst of the heart-lotus one should contemplate the Supreme Lord: the witness of the intellect’s modifications, the object of highest love; beyond the reach of mind and speech, the dissolving confluence of the avadhūta and the like; the sole light that illumines mere being, beyond all mental construction; not to be abandoned, not to be appropriated, marked by what is not a generic attribute; steadfast, still, profound; neither radiance nor darkness extended; without conceptual alternatives, without appearance—consciousness made of nirvāṇa.
