Now, for Sarvajit Kauṣītaki there are three meditations. Having put on the sacred thread, having sipped water, and having sprinkled the water-vessel three times, one should stand facing the rising sun (and recite): “You are the (sun-)varga; remove my evil.” With this same (formula), when the sun is in the middle (of the sky): “You are the udvarga; lift away my evil.” With this same (formula), when it is setting: “You are the saṃvarga; gather away my evil.” Whatever sin one commits by day and night, he thereby shakes it off.
Dinacaryā-style practice: tri-sandhyā contemplation on the sun; supports pratyāhāra and sattva through regularity, mantra, and attention to light; can be adapted as mindful sunrise/noon/sunset meditation with breath and mantra
