Katha Upanishad 27: Verse 27
न वित्तेन तर्पणीयो मनुष्यो लप्स्यामहे वित्तमद्राक्ष्म चेत्त्वा। जीविष्यामो यावदीशिष्यसि त्वं वरस्तु मे वरणीयः स एव॥
न वित्तेन तर्पणीयः मनुष्यः लप्स्यामहे वित्तम् अद्राक्ष्म चेत् त्वा। जीविष्यामः यावत् ईशिष्यसि त्वं वरः तु मे वरणीयः सः एव॥
na vittena tarpaṇīyo manuṣyo lapsyāmahe vittamadrākṣma cettvā | jīviṣyāmo yāvadīśiṣyasi tvaṃ varastu me varaṇīyaḥ sa eva ||
इंसान को पैसा कभी खुश नहीं कर सकता। तुम्हे देख कर हमें पैसे मिल जाएँगे। जब तक तुम चाहोगे हम जियेंगे। मैं बस यही वरदान माँगता हूँ।
A human being cannot be satisfied by wealth. We shall obtain wealth if we have seen you. We shall live as long as you will rule. That boon alone is to be chosen by me.
