In this brief Triṣṭubh hymn, Vasiṣṭha invokes Indra and Varuṇa together as “two kings,” turning them toward the sacrifice with reverent offerings and the shining flow of ghee. The poet emphasizes the successful completion of rite and mantra—beautiful in the assemblies—and prays for god-driven prosperity, protective help, and well-being for offspring and lineage. The hymn concludes with a confident assurance that the song has reached the deities, asking their continual guardianship in svasti (welfare).

आ वां राजानावध्वरे ववृत्यां हव्येभिरिन्द्रावरुणा नमोभिः । प्र वां घृताची बाह्वोर्दधाना परि त्मना विषुरूपा जिगाति ॥
मैं इंद्र और वरुण को यज्ञ के लिए बुलाता हूँ। सामग्री और नमस्ते से। घी की आग तुम दोनों के हाथों में है। वो खुद ही चारों तरफ फैलती है और काम करती है।

युवो राष्ट्रं बृहदिन्वति द्यौर्यौ सेतृभिररज्जुभिः सिनीथः । परि नो हेळो वरुणस्य वृज्या उरुं न इन्द्रः कृणवदु लोकम् ॥
आपका बड़ा राज्य आसमान खुद चलाता है। आप रस्सियों और पुलों से सब को बाँधते हैं। हमें वरुण के गुस्से से आज़ाद कर दो। इंद्र हमारे लिए रहने के लिए खुला जगह बना दे।

कृतं नो यज्ञं विदथेषु चारुं कृतं ब्रह्माणि सूरिषु प्रशस्ता । उपो रयिर्देवजूतो न एतु प्र णः स्पार्हाभिरूतिभिस्तिरेतम् ॥
हमारी यह पूजा सबके सामने सुंदर हो गई है। हमारे मंतर काम कर रहे हैं और लोग उनकी तारीफ कर रहे हैं। भगवान की तरफ से धन हमारे पास आए। हमें अच्छे सहयोग मिलके आगे ले जाओ।

अस्मे इन्द्रावरुणा विश्ववारं रयिं धत्तं वसुमन्तं पुरुक्षुम् । प्र य आदित्यो अनृता मिनात्यमिता शूरो दयते वसूनि ॥
हे इंद्र और वरुण, हमें वो धन दो जिसमें सब अच्छी चीज़ें हों। पैसा हो, ताकत हो, सब कुछ हो। यह आदित्य देवता झूठ को खत्म करता है और असली धन बाँटता है।

इयमिन्द्रं वरुणमष्ट मे गीः प्रावत्तोके तनये तूतुजाना । सुरत्नासो देववीतिं गमेम यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः ॥
मेरा गाना इंद्र और वरुण तक पहुँच गया है। यह गाना हमारे बच्चों और परिवार के लिए अच्छा है। हम बड़े खज़ाने पा के भगवान के पास जाओ। आप हमेशा हमारा ख्याल रखो।
