Sukta 7.36
आ यत्साकं यशसो वावशानाः सरस्वती सप्तथी सिन्धुमाता । याः सुष्वयन्त सुदुघाः सुधारा अभि स्वेन पयसा पीप्यानाः ॥
ā́ yát sā́kaṃ yaśáso vāvaśānā́ḥ sárasvatī saptáthī síndhumātā́ | yā́ḥ suṣváyanta su-dúghāḥ su-dhārā́ abhí svéna páyasā pī́pyānāḥ ||
जब यह सब नदियाँ साथ में आगे बढ़ती हैं, सरस्वती उनमें सबसे बड़ी है। यह सात रस्तों वाली नदी है और बाकी नदियों की माँ है। यह नदियाँ ऐसे हैं जैसे दूध देती हैं, और उनका पानी साफ बहता है। अपने ही पानी से भर के वो सबको पोषण देती हैं।
