This brief tri-verse hymn of Vasiṣṭha invokes Agni in his Vaiśvānara form as the all-purifying, world-filling fire who destroys hostile powers and clears obstructions. प्राग्नये विश्वशुचे धियंधेऽसुरघ्ने मन्म धीतिं भरध्वम् । भरे हविर्न बर्हिषि प्रीणानो वैश्वानराय यतये मतीनाम् ॥
अग्नि के लिए सोच लाओ, वो सबको साफ करता है और बुरी चीज़ों को खत्म करता है। अच्छे शब्द बोलो और समझ के बात करो। वो हवन के समान पूजा में खुश रहता है। वैश्वानर के लिए काम करता है, जो हमारे सोच का रास्ता दिखाता है।

त्वमग्ने शोचिषा शोशुचान आ रोदसी अपृणा जायमानः । त्वं देवाँ अभिशस्तेरमुञ्चो वैश्वानर जातवेदो महित्वा ॥
अग्नि, तुम्हारी आग इतनी तेज़ है। जब तुम पैदा होते हो तो दोनों दुनिया तुमसे भर जाती है। तुमने देवताओं को दुश्मन लोगों से आज़ाद किया। वैश्वानर और जातवेदस, तुम्हारी बड़ी शक्ति है।

जातो यदग्ने भुवना व्यख्यः पशून्न गोपा इर्यः परिज्मा । वैश्वानर ब्रह्मणे विन्द गातुं यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः ॥
अग्नि, जब तुम पैदा हुए थे, तुमने सारी दुनिया देखी। जैसे कोई ग्वाला अपने जानवरों की नज़र रखता है, वैसे तुम हर तरफ घूम रहे थे। हे वैश्वानर, भगवान के पास जाने का रास्ता ढूंढ दो। और तुम लोग हमेशा हम पे अच्छा नज़र रखो।
