Agni
This brief Agni hymn invokes the “Son of Strength” as the youthful, truthful priest who awakens and impels all desirable riches. It asks Agni to protect the worshippers by burning away distant and inner assailants, and concludes with repeated aspirations to attain desire, wealth with heroic sons, victorious power (vāja), and Agni’s imperishable glory.

Mantra 1
हुवे वः सूनुं सहसो युवानमद्रोघवाचं मतिभिर्यविष्ठम् । य इन्वति द्रविणानि प्रचेता विश्ववाराणि पुरुवारो अध्रुक् ॥
मैं तुम्हे बुला रहा हूँ, उस नए बलवान बेटे को जो ताकत का बेटा है। वो झूठ नहीं बोलता, सबसे नया है, और हमारी सोच से पाया जाता है। वो जागरूक है, समझदार है, और धन को आगे बढ़ाता है। वो हर तरह के खज़ाने देता है, बहुत देते है, और कभी गलती नहीं करता।

त्वे वसूनि पुर्वणीक होतर्दोषा वस्तोरेरिरे यज्ञियासः । क्षामेव विश्वा भुवनानि यस्मिन्त्सं सौभगानि दधिरे पावके ॥
अग्नि, तुम्हारे पास धन आता है, तुम्हारे चेहरे बहुत हैं। रात और सुबह, यज्ञ करने वाले लोग तुम्हारे पास आते हैं। जैसे एक घर में सब कुछ होता है, वैसे ही तुम में सारी दुनिया बसी है। तुम जो साफ करते हो, उसमें सारी खुशियाँ इकट्ठी हैं।

त्वं विक्षु प्रदिवः सीद आसु क्रत्वा रथीरभवो वार्याणाम् । अत इनोषि विधते चिकित्वो व्यानुषग्जातवेदो वसूनि ॥
तुम लोगों के बीच बैठते हो, आसमान से आए हो। अपनी मर्ज़ी से तुम वो चीज़ें चलाते हो जो लोग चाहते हैं। इसलिए तुम उसको धन पहुँचाते हो जो तुम्हारी सेवा करता है। तुम समझदार हो, जातवेदस, और धन को सही-सही बाँट देते हो।

यो नः सनुत्यो अभिदासदग्ने यो अन्तरो मित्रमहो वनुष्यात् । तमजरेभिर्वृषभिस्तव स्वैस्तपा तपिष्ठ तपसा तपस्वान् ॥
अग्नि, अगर कोई दूर से हमला करे, या कोई अंदर से दोस्ती तोड़ने की कोशिश करे, उसे अपनी ताकत से जला दो। तू सबसे ज़्यादा तेज़ है, अपनी तपस्या से उसे राख कर दो।

यस्ते यज्ञेन समिधा य उक्थैरर्केभिः सूनो सहसो ददाशत् । स मर्त्येष्वमृत प्रचेता राया द्युम्नेन श्रवसा वि भाति ॥
जो तुझे यज्ञ में समिधा दे, जो तुझे गाके बुलाते हैं, वो इंसानों में रहते हुए भी अमर बन जाते हैं। उन्हे ज्ञान मिलता है, धन मिलता है, और वो चमकते हैं।

स तत्कृधीषितस्तूयमग्ने स्पृधो बाधस्व सहसा सहस्वान् । यच्छस्यसे द्युभिरक्तो वचोभिस्तज्जुषस्व जरितुर्घोषि मन्म ॥
अग्नि, जब तुझे बुलाया जाए, तुरंत काम कर। अपनी ताकत से दुश्मनों को भगा दे। जो भी तेरे लिए गाया जाए, उसे सुन ले। गाने वाले की आवाज़ को फैला दे।

अश्याम तं काममग्ने तवोती अश्याम रयिं रयिवः सुवीरम् । अश्याम वाजमभि वाजयन्तोऽश्याम द्युम्नमजराजरं ते ॥
अग्नि, तेरी मदद से हम अपनी इच्छा पूरा करें। हमें धन मिले, बेटे-बेटियाँ मिलें, जीत मिले। तेरी बड़ाई कभी पुरानी न हो, हमेशा नयी रहे।
