Sukta 3.1
मयो दधे मेधिरः पूतदक्षो दिवः सुबन्धुर्जनुषा पृथिव्याः । अविन्दन्नु दर्शतमप्स्वन्तर्देवासो अग्निमपसि स्वसॄणाम् ॥
máyo dadhé médhiraḥ pūtádakṣo diváḥ subándhur jánuṣā pṛthivyā́ḥ | avíndann u darśatám apsv àntar devā́so agním apási svasṝ́ṇām ||
वो हमें खुशी देता है, समझदार है, और उसका काम साफ है। आसमान का रिश्तेदार है, धरती से पैदा हुआ। देवताओं ने पानी में छुपा हुआ अग्नि ढूंढ लिया, जैसे कोई छुपा हुआ चिराग मिल गया हो।
