Sukta 2.24
स संनयः स विनयः पुरोहितः स सुष्टुतः स युधि ब्रह्मणस्पतिः । चाक्ष्मो यद्वाजं भरते मती धनादित्सूर्यस्तपति तप्यतुर्वृथा ॥
sá saṃnáyaḥ sá vináyaḥ puróhitaḥ sá suṣṭútaḥ sá yudhí bráhmaṇas pátiḥ | cākṣmó yád vā́jaṃ bhárate matī́ dhánād ít sū́ryas tapati tapyátur vṛ́thā ||
Hymn for guidance and victory: purohita function in rites; also recited to invoke right counsel, successful undertaking, and conquest in symbolic battle.
inner priesthood (purohita) as guiding intelligence, vāja as force-plenitude, battle as yoga of overcoming
Brahmaṇaspati’s leadership implies the right order that makes gains stable.
Inspired matī is a channel of satya—truth that becomes power.
Word/intelligence brings force into manifestation and stabilizes it against dissolving pressures.
Integral-psychological reading: inner governance of nature; attainment stabilized by higher mind/intuitive inspiration.
midday (implied by burning sun)
Sun’s burning = pressure of circumstances, ego-heat, or mere external brilliance; vāja = stable spiritual energy gained through inspiration.
Invoke the ‘inner guide in front’ and let inspired thought bring stable force.
Ājñā (guidance) + Manipura (vāja/force)
4-4-6 breathing; on inhale ‘purohitaḥ’ (placing in front), on exhale ‘vāja’ (bringing force).
Centered command, resilient calm under heat/pressure.
1) Visualize Brahmaṇaspati ahead of you on the path. 2) Offer confusion to him as priest. 3) Wait for one inspired directive. 4) Act once; then rest in the attained force without anxiety about external ‘heat’.
Tri-svara; confirm accents for saṃnayaḥ/vinayaḥ/purohitaḥ and brahmaṇaspatiḥ from a svara source.
Mark the repeated ‘saḥ’ with steady emphasis but avoid monotony; let the cadence ‘lock’ on yudhi brahmaṇaspatiḥ.
saṃnayaḥ: anusvāra before n—keep it light, not ‘sam-m’, vinayaḥ: clear dental n, purohitaḥ: short i; final ḥ light, cākṣmo: cluster kṣ articulated, vājaṃ: long ā; soft nasal at end
Commanding, steady, battle-ready; end each pāda with a grounded finish.
