Indra
Triṣṭubh (likely; hymn 2.21 is predominantly Triṣṭubh)
This short Indra-hymn is an invitation to bring Soma to the all-conquering god who wins every field of victory—wealth, heaven, strength, cattle, and the waters. It praises Indra as irresistible and wide-ranging, a power who opens the luminous world for the Dawns, and it ends with a focused prayer for the best gifts: clear intelligence, prosperity, safety, sweet speech, and bright days.

Mantra 1
विश्वजिते धनजिते स्वर्जिते सत्राजिते नृजित उर्वराजिते । अश्वजिते गोजिते अब्जिते भरेन्द्राय सोमं यजताय हर्यतम् ॥
इंद्र को सोम ले के आओ। यह वो इंद्र है जो हर तरह से जीता है। धन जीता है, स्वर्ग जीता है, हमेशा जीता है। लोगों पर जीता है, ज़मीन जीता है। घोड़े और गाय जैसी शक्ति जीता है, पानी जीता है। यह वो इंद्र है जो खुश होता है, उसे सोम पिला दो।

अभिभुवेऽभिभङ्गाय वन्वतेऽषाळ्हाय सहमानाय वेधसे । तुविग्रये वह्नये दुष्टरीतवे सत्रासाहे नम इन्द्राय वोचत ॥
इंद्र को नमस्ते बोलो। यह वो है जो दुश्मनों को तोड़ देता है, आगे बढ़ता है, हार नहीं मानता। यह बहुत समझदार है। आवाज़ में ताकत है, आग ले के चलता है। कोई इससे आगे नहीं निकल सकता, यह हमेशा जीता है।

सत्रासाहो जनभक्षो जनंसहश्च्यवनो युध्मो अनु जोषमुक्षितः । वृतंचयः सहुरिर्विक्ष्वारित इन्द्रस्य वोचं प्र कृतानि वीर्या ॥
यह हमेशा जीता है, दुश्मन सेना को खा जाता है। लोगों को हरा देता है, लड़ाई में आगे बढ़ता है। यह खुश होके और बड़ा हो जाता है। सही राह बनाता है, दुश्मनों को मारता है। मैं इंद्र की यह बहादुरी के बारे में बोल रहा हूँ।

अनानुदो वृषभो दोधतो वधो गम्भीर ऋष्वो असमष्टकाव्यः । रध्रचोदः श्नथनो वीळितस्पृथुरिन्द्रः सुयज्ञ उषसः स्वर्जनत् ॥
इंद्र को कोई पीछे धकेल नहीं सकता। यह बैल जैसा ताकतवर है। दुश्मनों को मारता है, गहरी और ऊँची शक्ति है। इसकी बात में कोई बराबर नहीं। सीधी राह दिखाता है, रुकावटों को तोड़ता है। इसने सुबह के लिए उजियार दुनिया बनाई।

यज्ञेन गातुमप्तुरो विविद्रिरे धियो हिन्वाना उशिजो मनीषिणः । अभिस्वरा निषदा गा अवस्यव इन्द्रे हिन्वाना द्रविणान्याशत ॥
यज्ञ से रास्ता मिल गया। रिशियों ने सोचा, बुझ्दिली लगाई। उजिया की तरफ आवाज़ की, बैठ के पूजा की। इंद्र से मदद माँगी, धन मिल गया।

इन्द्र श्रेष्ठानि द्रविणानि धेहि चित्तिं दक्षस्य सुभगत्वमस्मे । पोषं रयीणामरिष्टिं तनूनां स्वाद्मानं वाचः सुदिनत्वमह्नाम् ॥
इंद्र, हमें सबसे अच्छी चीज़ें दे। हमें काम करने की समझ दे, और अच्छा भाग्य दे। हमारे पास पैसा और चमक बढ़ा दे। हमारे शरीर को सुरक्षित रख। हमारी बात में मिठास हो और हमारे दिन अच्छे गुज़रें।
