Outer meaning

The Rahūgaṇas have spoken to Agni a honeyed word; with luminous powers they urge him forward.

Inner meaning

The collective lineage (Rahūgaṇa) offers madhu-mat vacaḥ—speech filled with ‘honey’: delight, sweetness, and truth-substance. In Aurobindonian terms, madhu suggests the rasa of the Truth, the Ananda that makes right speech effective. Such speech is not flattery but a vibration that harmonises the being; supported by dyumna, it presses Agni to take up the offering and advance the inner work.

Universal truth

When speech is truthful and delight-bearing, it becomes a power of transformation; it can kindle and guide the inner fire in oneself and others.
