Sukta 1.55
दिवश्चिदस्य वरिमा वि पप्रथ इन्द्रं न मह्ना पृथिवी चन प्रति । भीमस्तुविष्माञ्चर्षणिभ्य आतपः शिशीते वज्रं तेजसे न वंसगः ॥
diváś cid asya varimā́ ví papratha índraṃ na mahnā́ pṛthivī́ caná práti | bhīmás tuvíṣmān carṣaṇí-bhya ātapáḥ śiśīte vájraṃ téjase na váṃsagaḥ ||
आसमान भी इंद्र के आगे छोटा पड़ता है। धरती उसकी बड़ाई नाप नहीं सकती। लोगों के बीच वो इतना भयानक है कि सब जल उठते हैं। वो अपनी वज्र को इतना तेज करता है जैसे लोहार लोहा को चमकाता है।
