Agni’s installation as Hotar; suitable for establishing the sacrificial fire and for invoking the infallible priestly function in the rite.
vrata as intrinsic law (ṛta-alignment), iḷā as inspired speech/revelation, Agni as inner priest (hotṛ)
vrata (law) is the operational form of ṛta—Agni embodies the right law in action.
Ilā-seat suggests truth becoming expressible as inspired word and right understanding.
The divine is ‘born in man’ as a foundational power; manifestation is supported when the inner priest is established and faithful.
Vedic integralism: the divine principle immanent in the human as the engine of transformation.
Fire = consecrating will; seat/altar = stable practice and inner posture; enclosure = concentration and protection from dispersion.
Establish the ‘inner Hotṛ’: a steady witnessing will that offers thoughts and impulses into a central flame; seat it in quiet inspiration (Ilā).
Manipura (foundation of will) with Ajna/Viśuddha support (Ilā—revelation/word).
Slow diaphragmatic breathing; on inhale feel ‘Agni is born’; on exhale feel ‘I offer’; keep attention steady at the inner seat.
Grounded, obedient harmony—parts of the being consenting to a central guide.
Create a daily ritual: 3 minutes silence → kindle aspiration → affirm ‘svam anu vratam’ (I follow the higher law) → speak/act only after touching the Ilā-seat (quiet clarity).
Tri-svara; keep the opening ‘ayam jāyata’ clear and even; maintain steady pitch discipline to mirror ‘firm support’.
Stress: ayám, jāyata, hotā́, yájiṣṭhaḥ, vrátam, víśvaśruṣṭiḥ, sakhī́yate, adábdhaḥ, iḻás padé.
: long ī in -rī-; retroflex ṇi at end., : ‘uśi’ with ś; avoid ‘ushi’ as English ‘shy’., : vowel ‘iḻa’ with retroflex ḻ (often rendered as ḍ/ḷ in recensions); keep it liquid, not ‘la’.
Steady, grounded, low-to-mid register; minimal vibrato; sustained vowels.
